This is the activity schedule for our Summer 2024 Fitness and Yoga Retreat in Cornwall. Some sessions are weather dependent and may change. All times are for guidance only and we’ll confirm session start times each day.

Saturday 8th June

4.30pm – Arrivals

6pm – Welcome drinks and games

It wouldn’t be an NKD retreat if we didn’t play Strip Jenga on the first night.

8pm – Dinner

Sunday 9th June

8.30am – Fitness Yoga and Stretch

Gentle exercises to engage the senses and calm the mind

9.30am – Breakfast

10.30 – Walk to the Camel River and cross the fairy bridge.

1.30pm – Lunch

4pm – Body Beats

Cardio and weight training, this is an energetic workout set to a pumping beat

5pm – Walk the Camel Trail

The Camel Trail is an 18 mile largely traffic free, surfaced and virtually level multi use trail. It provides access to the beautiful Cornish countryside along a disused railway line between Wenfordbridge, Bodmin, Wadebridge and Padstow.

We’ll walk a local section of the trail.

7pm – Dinner at The Borough Arms

The local pub serving traditional food from a contemporary menu with seasonal specials

Monday 10th June

8am – Tai Chi inspired relax and breathing class

Gentle breathing and movement inspired by Tai Chi

8.30am – Breakfast

9.30am – Padstow to Rock Ferry

From Padstow we take the ferry across the Camel Estuary to Rock

9.30am – Sir John Betjeman Walk – Rock to Daymer Bay

In his inimitable style, Betjeman described the walk to Daymer Bay as “a mile of shallow pools and lugworm casts” remarking on the abundance of wildlife and wild herbs that “burnished” the path.

12am – Rock to Padstow

From Rock we take the ferry across the Camel Estuary to the famous fishing village

1pm – Lunch

Choose a pasty on the waterfront, fish and chips at Rick Steins, or a cream tea. The choices in Padstow are endless. We will split into smaller groups for lunch today

3pm – Showtime group meetings

4pm – Naked Cowboy Line Dance Workout

A musical workout inspired including line dancing (cowboy hats optional) and cardio sequences

8pm – Dinner

Tuesday 11th June

8am – Sunrise Yoga

Sun Salutations to energise your day

8.30am – Breakfast

10am – “Stripped and Ripped”

Get ripped with our fun Interval training class

1pm – Lunch

3pm – Bodmin Steam Railway “Cream Tea Special”

Cream Tea on the Bodmin Steam Railway (Train departs 3.45pm)

(remember to shop for our picnic lunch tomorrow)

8pm – Dinner

Wednesday 12th June

8am – Warrior Flow

Wake up and move energy using a simple sequence to move into the day with fluidity.

9am – Breakfast

10am – Circuit Training

Cardio and Resistance Training in a circuit format

12pm – Coastal Walk, Polruan and Lanteglos

Polruan is a delightful little place which looks over the wide estuary to Fowey. The walk gives a succession of vistas of river and coastline. We will pack some lunch to eat half way along the walk

8pm – Dinner

Thursday 13th June

8am – Tai Chi inspired relaxation class

8.30am – Breakfast

10am – Camel Valley Vineyard

A tour of the Vineyard and a chance to sample some Cornish wine. This tour includes a wine flight of their four flagship wines for you to taste, and time to purchase wine by the glass or bottle after the tasting. Soft drinks are available. Tour starts at 10.30am

1pm – Lunch

3pm – “Hard Muscle”

An invigorating muscle building exercise class using body weight and dumbbells.

5pm – Life Drawing

The theme for life drawing is “Leather & Lace”

Tom of Finland meets Rocky Horror! Go naked or bring an outfit and dress to thrill! (modelling for the life drawing session is optional)

7pm – Dinner at The Borough Arms

The local pub serving traditional food from a contemporary menu with seasonal specials

Friday 14th June

8.30am – Fitness Yoga and Stretch

Gentle exercises to engage the senses and calm the mind

9am – Breakfast

10am – Pump and Burn

Weights exercise and physical challenges that burn fat and pump your muscles

11am – Kegel exercise workshop

We’ll learn how to strengthen your pelvic floor muscles with some simple kegel exercises

1pm – Walk the Camel Trail

1.30pm – Lunch

Lunch at the Camel Trail Tea Garden

5pm – It’s Showtime!

8pm – Dinner

Fish and Chips from the best chip shop in Bodmin!
